Malga Marmotta - Valmalenco

Malga Marmotta is our heartfelt project in Valmalenco. We – Inga and Benedikt – designed and built the house ourselves. The architecture is clean and contemporary, the materials are high-quality and natural, the design intentionally reduced – yet warm and welcoming.

The house accommodates up to 8 guests, with two bedrooms, an open living area, and a fireplace that creates a special atmosphere on colder days. Plenty of wood, soft natural tones and carefully chosen details make it feel modern without ever being cold.

You stay at around 900 metres above sea level, in a truly secluded setting. No passing traffic, no neighbours – just meadows, forest and mountain views. In winter you look out onto snow-covered peaks; in summer, onto lush green slopes. The ski area is only five minutes away, and hiking trails start right outside the door.

In winter: skiing, cross-country skiing, ski touring, ice climbing.
In summer: hiking, climbing, alpine tours, mountain biking, road cycling, rafting, canyoning.

Malga Marmotta is not a typical holiday house. It is a thoughtfully designed retreat in a mountain landscape we deeply love – calm, authentic and reduced to what truly matters. A place to stay - and always return to.
